Paris Fashion Week
Originally created as a one-off featured in the 11 Athletic Bouldering Exhibit for Paris Fashion week in 2023, the Athletic Bouldering Climbing Shoe model quickly turned into a house favorite so, naturally, we had to share it with you.

BOULDERING IS FREEDOM. Climbing without ropes or harnesses over rock formations or artificial walls offers unique mental and physical challenges. As a keen climber, Saberi wanted to expand and enhance the apparel possibilities of bouldering. His personal connection with the sport together with his existing partnership with leading mountain sports brand Salomon resulted in a paradigm shift in bouldering style: the Athletic Bouldering FW23 collection. Created in collaboration with legendary climber Fred Nicole and So iLL, the collection brings together technical footwear, clothing and backpacks in a specific design language that both embraces and transcends utilitarianism.

Super soft, toe is still acute and rigid enough, premium materials, will be purchasing more styles as I progress in climbing because of this brand :3
Got my boyfriend a pair for his birthday, and he absolutely loves them. Gets compliments on the nonstop , and will not stop climbing anything and everything that he can lay his hands and feet on.
As someone newer to climbing I bought these shoes strictly for the aesthitic and after climbing in them for over a month now ive been blown away by the amount of confidence they have given me compared to my precious shoe. Highly reccomend them, espically if you like getting complimented on how sick your shoes look!
The shoes are very soft and comfortable. Thanks to So iLL team for all the helps they gave me when buying the shoes. I would strongly recommend everyone to buy!
I absolutely love So iLL's climbing shoes. Their unique and stylish design is something I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Once I tried them, I couldn’t go back to any other brand — nothing compares. The fit, the colors, and the attention to detail make every pair feel special, and they’re not only great for climbing but look amazing off the wall too.
Although I live in Korea and it’s not easy to buy them directly, my love for So iLL shoes hasn’t changed. I genuinely miss wearing them and often check for new releases. Please launch your new shoes soon — I’m so excited to see what’s coming next!
Thank you for creating such outstanding gear. So iLL isn’t just a climbing shoe brand — it’s a part of my climbing journey. I’ll keep supporting you from afar!
The elastic tongue on these give a secure fit. They are soft enough for long climbs and comfort. The lacing system has held up so far. I'm used to Velcro closure, so it is a more precise fit. Get 'em if you can.
I get so many comments on it!!
I’m new to climbing and these were the first pair of shoes I’ve bought. Within the first week of wearing them I found them very comfortable compared to other new shoes I tried on at the gym. They also broke in pretty fast which I liked but they still hug my feet really well. The only small complaint I would say is that the toes on these shoes don’t help me a ton on really small toe holds, like ones you see on V6 and up. But I’m only now able to climb V6 and up because of these shoes. In a few months I’ve gone from V3’s to now V6 V7’s so overall I am super happy with them. I also get a lot of people asking about where they’re from which seems like an easy way to start up conversation :)
The rubber part of the shoe has stayed very white and that part of the shoe looks brand new, the fabric part of the shoe has gotten a little gray but I don’t think it’s really noticeable unless someone is looking close up.
super soft and sticky, well put together, overall solid shoes. Besides looking super sick they feel great on the feet and on the wall. I sized down 0.5 sizes and they feel super competitive, 1 full size might be too small but I have wide feet.
I am not a good climber, but I care about my shoes, nothing on the market looks like these, and once they are broken in - they climb like shoes worthy of the price, would pay the extra money to not have dirty bannana or watermelon colourway shoes
I love these shoes so much. I have them both in black and white. Super comfortable straight out the box and the quick lace system is a wonderful middle ground between laces and straps. I guarantee you will get asked about these shoes every time you wear them. I get compliments on how stylish they are all the time. They also perform really well. Super soft shoes with great sensitivity. My only real drawback is I think the rubber could be a bit stickier. Considering it's white rubber it's still pretty sticky and I can definitely smear pretty decently, but when I compare them to the black versions, I definitely feel more confident in the black rubber than the white rubber. Although both are super awesome shoes. I rave about them to everyone I meet. 1000% recommend
First session I noticed I wasn’t getting as much grip on volumes and holds as my so ill stays. My foot slipped off a few times but after a few more sessions of breaking in the sole and getting the rubber nice and scuffed up I can safely say the white rubber is equally as grippy. These are definitely softer and more comfortable then my stays and feel really good. These lacing system locks down nice and doesn’t loosen over time. Really good shoe that isn’t the most aggressive painful thing to wear. Very happy with my purchase and have never been disappointed with any shoes I’ve bought from the company. Plus every person in the gym has come up to me and told me how cool the all white is. Love you so ill. Windsor rock gym for life
Comfort and Precision out of the gate. I love the feel and design. This shoe is a head turner at my local gym. Never really having a super soft shoe has opened my mind to really only wanting a soft shoe now. I have much more confidence in my foot placement.
I do believe the rubber could be a bit better and stickier. I also believe the lace system could be tweaked to wrap to the inside of the foot and connect there. Overall I think the future of this shoe and other shoes like it are going to be the future of climbing. This isn't just a great intermediate shoe it's a great shoe for climbers and beginners all around.
Can't wait to see what else you cook up next.
Your AB1 White is fabulous!
With its lacing and design, it wraps the foot like no other (except maybe the black version, but I don’t have that one). So the fit and support are incredible.
It’s super precise on all footholds — the feeling is amazing. For toe hooking, the grooved texture on the toe is excellent! Even better than the latest Scarpa model, which is already very good. The lacing also makes toe hooking extremely precise!
(please find hereafter the picture of both shoes)
For me, the overall performance is so good that there’s just one thing missing to make heel hooking as incredible as toe hooking: grooved texture on the heel as well!
On the latest Scarpa, they’ve added some sort of small bumps, and the grip is out of this world!
Considering the structured design on the front of the AB1, if you applied something similar on the back, this shoe would become an absolute weapon.
(please find hereafter the pictures of both shoes heels)
I love it!
I’ll send you some photos to illustrate what I mean…
Comparison of the front between the AB1 and Scarpa — the AB1’s structure is better.
But on the heel, the Scarpa is more effective thanks to the textured, honeycomb-like design…
You’re doing amazing work!
However, I must tell you that I just climbed 3 times with the new shoes, and the sole starts to come off ! (see picture 1)
I like them! To be honest, I was skeptical when I bought these, thinking to myself there was about a 50/50 chance I send them back. This is my first pair of So iLL shoes and I didnt really know how to size them or what to expect. But when I saw these All White shoes, curiosity got the better of me and I had to try them. I was slightly concerned that the rubber wouldn't be good, because rubber just seems like it should be black right? Not so. These feel perfectly tacky and sticky in white. I sized them up a full street shoe size because I like comfy shoes. Getting old and my bunions hurt from years of cramming into tight sport shoes. My toes are still slightly curled in these, but its still comfy. Probably not going to be my go to sending shoe for the proj, they're super soft and probably don't have the powerful edging I'll require for the route I'm working on. But as a general training, comfy work horse and for warmup routes they feel like they'll fit the bill just right. And they're a decent bit more affordable than my brand-which-will-not-be-named redpoint shoe.
