Just got this big bag and set with a mix of large and small holds. Loved the two side pockets and took advantage of many of the clipping points. Bought he recommended 17 gallon bucket from Walmart ($15) and it was a snap to put the bag together. The pockets for the longer bolts came in handy, one of which was perfect for my phone. The see through pockets seem least useful. Because of their design they require more precision picking to get into and because of their depth I wouldn't want ot store smaller bits in them. Would have fine with just another shallow pocket (or 2) like the bolt pockets. Lastly, for such a beefy bag, the two straps that it hangs from are surprisingly thin. Would have expected wider straps or reinforced loops. All in all, a big upgrade from the rigid, porous bin from ULINE that I have been using.
TL:DR
This is an awesome and very convenient tool but it does not last forever.
Absolutely love this for commercial routesetting. The big pockets and compartments are very useful for organizing and minimizing time picking holds and bolts. I think over the past 6 years I have purchased 8 of them and that's the downside. Our gym is tall (30-50 feet) and we have a lot of terrain that is vertical or less than. We generally strip and set routes using the bucket. We use a protraxion to haul the buckets up to our position at the top of the wall and that contact over many repetitions wears through the nylon around the rim of the bucket, exterior of the outer pockets, and the straps leading to the masterpoint. We generally get a couple years out of each set of two that we've purchased.
