- Designed and built on a hand-shaped, downturned last by Fred Nicole, ROAM Rigid is a semi-stiff slipper developed with Jason Momoa as part of the So iLL x On The Roam collection. ROAM Rigid features a three-way stretch knit entry with an elastic band stitched to a durable, comfortable, unlined vegan microsuede upper. This shoe is tensioned from under the toe to the back of the heel while the laser etched rand generates tension as well. The midsole is composed of a thin proprietary fiberboard with a center cut out for the flexibility/edging. The outsole is split and outfitted with Vibram XS Grip Rubber which extends in a wide band to the top of the heel. ROAM Rigid is ideal for all types of angles and perfect for those who like a sensitive slipper with a little more support (than ROAM Soft). This shoe is also more adaptable to sport climbing with good edging and great heel/toe hooking abilities. It is, perhaps, the best shoe in our lineup, to date, for edging overall.

For slip-ons, these are a great option that is so unique to the market right now. Having a stiffer slip-on is exactly what I was looking for on top of the added incredible shoe design and color. The leather is so soft and comfortable straight out of the box. I feel like it does take much to break in. Edging feels great on them so far and heel hooking. I have wide feel and shallow, narrow heels and this fit perfectly. I always having a problem with too much dead-space with other shoes and this solved that problem. Definitely in my go-to rotation for shoes.
Perfect fit, incredible sensation on the wall
I’ve purchased several climbing shoes from So iLL, but this pair is definitely my favorite! The softness of the shoe makes it incredibly comfortable and easy to slip on and off, even though I have a high instep. The design is also a major plus—I'm in love with the strawberry milk color, which is my absolute favorite. It's just as cute in person as it is in pictures, and I can't help but adore it!
Although shipping took a bit longer since I’m located in Korea, it was absolutely worth the wait. The fit, comfort, and style of these shoes are unmatched. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a blend of functionality and fashion in their climbing gear.
These feel like a slightly less aggressive, slip-on solution. About to order a second pair just to have ready for the next season.
True to size fits great for trying hard, no heel slip and the vibram rubber does its thang. .5 size down would probably break in beautifully after 5/6 sessions. Keep the bangers coming!
