Have only been climbing (bouldering) for about 4 months and thought it was time to upgrade from my Five Ten Anasazi Moccasyms. These Five Tens were my first pair of climbing shoes and were flat, basically "up"turned lol (see picture). As my first pair of climbing shoes, I didn't see any weaknesses in them (especially compared to rental shoes). Purchasing So iLL's "Catch" shoe, I could definitely notice the upgrade. The upper rubber helps with toe hooks and the heel grips pretty well for heel hooks since the rubber on the bottom of the shoe and the heel are from one continuous piece of rubber. The downturn helps a lot with small footholds and overhangs. Keep in mind, this review is my experience transitioning from the Anasazis to the Catch (I'm not an expert enough to review this shoe objectively). So far, this shoe is performing very well as I'm working on V5/6s.

In addition to performance, these shoes just look so good. I'm a fan of slippers and the design for the Catch is so sleek/aesthetic. In person, the shoes do have a slight "bog green" tint despite pictures making them seem black and white. It doesn't really bother me. Lastly, the shoes did come with a slight stain on one of the pull tabs and the toe rubber on one of the shoes looked a little dirty. I was a little annoyed at first but realized they would get dirty eventually anyways.

For sizing, my street shoe size is 9 to 9.5. For my Anasazis and Catches, I got 9.5s. From what I've seen online, people would think I'm crazy for not getting a size smaller than my street shoe size. However, mine are actually a really good fit on me. They do hurt after about 30 minutes but breaking them in will help with that.

Easily the best shoe on the market for the price. A perfect all-around slipper that is comfy but still aggressive enough for harder bouldering and sport. The vegan microsuede feels really nice on your foot straight out of the box and just gets better as they break in. I ordered my normal street shoe size and they fit perfect for me. (Can keep them on for a full gym sesh without too much discomfort. Could definitely size down .5 for a more aggressive fit or a half size up for a comfier fit without being too baggy) The heel feels great also, first slipper that I haven’t had to worry about popping out of the shoe mid heel hook. The rubber is stiff enough for edging well and still sensitive enough for some sketchy smears. Overall I’m super stoked with them and will definitely be ordering more pairs in the future

I really like these shoes! They look nice, and they feel great on the wall. This is a stiffer shoe, so smearing is a little tricky to get right for me -- it seems to be slightly less stickier than my first shoe (LS Finale) but also performs better on tiny holds and hooks.

The website recommends upsizing by +1 (US) your street shoe size. I thought I could handle +.5, but I guess my feet are kind of wide. The SoIll team were nice enough to replace them with +1 and they fit me pretty well. The delivery and replacement were both very efficient!

I have a low volume heel with a somewhat wide forefoot and these are a great comfort gym shoe, but I wish the heel was a bit smaller. They are a good all around mix between stiff and sticky for indoor climbing, but struggle on the extreme smears and edges compared to more specific options as a result.

First slipper style shoes I’ve had. Construction is high quality and the size guide on the website works well. Toe hooks and heel hooks are both solid. Edging is very sensitive for a stiffer shoe and it holds smears as long as they’re placed intentionally. As a bonus it’s one of the better looking shoes on the market. Would recommend

Right out of the box these shoes are so eye catching (pun intended haha) Well designed as the description suggests, and fit perfectly. I am by no means an expert climber, I would place myself more in a beginner/intermediate range…but my first climbing shoes were actually too small for me and caused me quite a bit of pain even after the time it took to break them in. With these slippers I took the sizing advice and ordered one street size larger than my regular shoe size. The fit is nice and snug, but not painful. I just got these in the mail today and can’t wait to start bouldering in them. The quality and design are apparent right out of the box. 5/5 stars A++++! Bonus perks!: Came with a complimentary chalk bag which is also beautiful! Shipping was ultra fast! I live in Hawaii where shipping usually takes weeks. SoiLL obviously prides themselves on packing and shipping diligently. Will order from again! <3

So far so good. I haven’t climbed much in them yet but so far the rubber seems durable, toe patch is great for hooking, and they look sick. Love the bog green color. Heel is on the softer side which is good for heel hooks!

the best slipper i have ever worn. i have had anasasi slippers, sportiva slippers, but this one outperforms them, the fact that the sole starts on the heel and ends on the toe make it for a down turn fit that lasts. i have resole them twice now and they still keep the same shape as when i bought them

These are quite possibly one of the best slippers on the market right now. They feel good on any terrain outside of the steepest of overhangs. Even did my first multipitch in these! Fresh out of the box, they are decently stiff and supportive with a surprising amount of sensitivity. I have wide and tall feet and got these in my street shoe size. Break in period was quick but pretty rough. After a few months of wear they have softened up significantly so edging isn't that great anymore but they are oh so sensitive. Heel is tight and secure from day 1. You can heel hook with confidence in these shoes and not worry about slippage.

Les chaussons sont effectivement bien agréables à porter, précis est sensibles en restant particulièrement confortables . Je suis enchanté au premier essai.
Ça me donne envie de tester d’autres modeles développés par Fred.´ pour Soill.
Je me réjouis que ces chaussons soient disponibles en Suisse car les frais de port et de dédouanement sont chers depuis les States.

This year marks my 50th year rock climbing, age 72 and still climbing. Started when you had one choice of rock shoe, EB’s. Now you have more choices than Carter has liver pills. I’ve climbed everything from big walls to tiny boulders and worn 100’s of pairs of shoes. I can’t say enough about how much I like this shoe. By the end of my first gym session the shoes felt like they fit like a glove. While I don’t climb much harder than V5 or 5.12 these days, these shoes performed admirably. I plan on taking them out to Jtree next weekend for a workout on Right On and I’m stoked to be wearing these shoes! I have contemplated buying a second pair now so I know I’ll have them when these wear out. These shoes prove you can get an old dog to wear new kicks. So all you Gen Z’s and Alpha’s should take some advice from this old man and give these a try.

I have relatively wide feet with average volume, and I purchased a pair of climbing shoes in the same size as my street shoes (feet length 24.5mm, Catch length 24.7mm). Initially, I found that this pair was on the narrow side for climbing shoes and quite difficult to slip into. However, after using them for two sessions, they became snug around my feet, providing excellent coverage and ease of slipping in. I'm happy with how they've broken in.

On the performance side, these shoes are soft enough for flexibility, enabling adaptation to angles. They also offer sufficient support for sticking to smaller edges and provide the sensitivity required to gauge the security of foot placements. Overall, I'm impressed with their performance!

Most importantly, these climbing shoes are not only functional but also quite stylish! I can't resist good-looking shoes!!!!
