Step vs. Step Youth

FIT + LAST SHAPE

Step Youth: A neutral youth-specific last with very low toe asymmetry, additional length, and a wider toe box for growing feet.

Step: An adult-specific last with a slight downturn and low toe asymmetry, balancing comfort and performance.

MIDSOLE SUPPORT

Step Youth: A toe midsole provides targeted support for edging without making the shoe overly stiff.

Step: A full-length midsole provides increased stability and support for edging and heel hooks.

ENTRY

Step Youth: Without an elastic tongue-centering strap, the shoe opens fully for easy entry.

Step: An elastic tongue-centering strap keeps the tongue in place during climbing.

CLOSURE

Step Youth: A simplified two-pass strap secures the fit with a single pull.

Step: A three-pass strap creates a high-tension, multidirectional closure.
