We cannot thank Wes and Alice, the owners of Sender One for believing in US. This was the first large rope project we completed in the US and it is stunning.
The Sender One team had a vision for color and wall layout with over 10 custom Pantone colors and other needs for their community in Aliso Viejo, CA and we delivered.
We worked with Moses, their head setter to bring his vision to life with the climbing walls. We worked through multiple 3D designs and Sketchup models, designing cracks, lead walls, bouldering areas, and adjustable boards.
When the design was finished, we shot images at the DreamWall factory during production, and kept the Sender One team informed of the process and delivery dates.
On my first visit, I was completely blown away seeing the art in person. From design to final colors, this project is truly unique and special, having nothing in the US ever looking like this before.
Part of why this project was so special is that our marketing team at So iLL really worked together with Wes and Alice in multiple different mediums. One of which was renderings for their promotional use announcing the gym.
Working through this project from the very beginning to the install is something that I will never forget. Wes and Alice are the real deal and their commitment to their craft is admirable. Their work putting these facilities together in California speaks for itself.
During the early stages, we wanted to also help them play with color, so we worked with a local artist in St. Louis to hand paint color concepts during this stage of the project. There was something beautiful about working with our hands, at whichever scale the walls are currently at. 3D printed, hand painted walls helped dial in the design.
We also worked with Moses, the head setter in hand shaping some large logo holds for the facility. Our team traveled to El Paso and documented this process, building media to help Sender One with marketing the new gym.
Once the holds were designed, the models shipped to Canada where the custom Sender One logo holds were brought to life. Our team also traveled to Canada to document this production.
Every detail was considered for the macro holds. We worked through all details with Moses. From the shapes to the texture lines, clear materials, and dialing in the custom Sender One Pantone colors.
Our photo and video shoot in Aliso Viejo was a proud moment. The high design, custom colors and intentional logo holds all melded together creating an incredible place to play.
Leading up to the opening, the So iLL marketing team has also been working with Wes helping them to design icons, typography and website assets for the new Aliso Viejo location.
During our shoot, we were able to take high end images of Wes and Alice in their new space. The images can be used for local press releases, their website and email blasts to their communities announcing the progress and completion of the new gym.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve them and their project on so many different levels.
