004 - The Lab
The LAB in Boulder, CO is a training facility for local strong climbers who desire a separate experience from the commercial gym.
We worked with the owner to create a simple palette for spray walls, as well as setting for training.
Simple walls still have complex structure. There is lots of design and engineering involved in making something feel simple.
This project needed special engineering because we coudn’t attach the walls to the building masonry structure. We had to tie the loads both vertically and horizontally.
Once the engineering and steel was in place, we were ready for the panels to be installed. Simple is beautiful.
The steel was installed and Ivo visited the site personally during the building process, just like all of our other U.S. projects.
FIPP flooring was installed at The Lab as well. It’s an incredible flooring system with new technology and is installed by the same crew that installs the wall. One crew. Wall then flooring, both installed seamlessly, one right after the other.
The entire project shipped in a single container including the flooring, saving the client shipping costs from multiple factories and suppliers.
Here, finishing touches to the top layer of FIPP flooring is being installed. It’s a precise process that requires trained technicians.
The LAB is another simple looking project, with an incredible amount of detail and prep Small, but mighty. Large projects get the same amount of attention to detail, the scale is simply larger.
