I started climbing a month ago and was looking for a pair of rock climbing shoes that was comfortable but stylish at the same time. When I saw the shoe was selling for $59 I immediately purchase them as I've heard great things about the company and also a huge Momoa fan. The shoe looked sleek and extremely comfortable, so it was a no-brainer to buy as my first climbing shoe. After climbing in these shoes in the first week, I have to say these are the most comfortable climbing shoes I've ever tried and would recommend them for any beginner climbers! The only downside is that the shoes is quite flat and I'm having trouble climbing certain v3s with small footholds. I also recommend going for your actual street size as these shoes expand easily and it's a bit loose around my heel area. I may need to upgrade to the Momoa Pro soon, but very pleased with my purchase :)
I recently started bouldering, since both of my roommates have been doing it for a couple of years. I love it! The gym I go to charges for shoe rental, so I decided to get my own shoes, and these were the winners. Not only they look great, they are comfortable specially (if you are a beginner and are not used to the curve of climbing shoes) and they work solid in the wall.
I have been rock climbing for 45 years. Started when there were only EB’s. Still remember my first pair of Fire’s. I have climbed all over the US, Canada, and Great Britain. Presently I am at somewhere near 3,000 routes. At age 70 I am still climbing 5.11’s outside and V4-5 in bouldering. I love these shoes. Obviously I am no longer climbing at the upper levels but for anyone who regularly climbs at the level I am presently climbing these shoes are great! Comfortable beyond belief. I would even recommend these shoes for higher level climbers. I’m quite sure that if I was in my 30’s again I could use these shoes at 5.13 and V6/7. Great shoes!
I am intimidated by just about everything climbing related. I'm somewhat overweight so nothing seems to fit right, especially harnesses, so I've been hesitant to even try climbing shoes. Enter The Onset. With the flat last, this has been as somewhat comfortable as beginner climbing shoes can be, and I still feel like it gets adequate response and stability on the wall. Being new, I don't know all the in's and out's of what to look for in a shoe, but this one get's me up the wall safely, comfortably, and in style.
These shoes are soft, comfy and slip right on your feet. Not only do they look nice the dark matter rubber is sticky and works very well. I wear a 9.5 in vans and got a 10.5 in these and they fit great. I probably could’ve got them in a 10 but you can’t exchange them cuz of discount put on it so it is what it is. The only minor inconvenience is because of the knit upper and the fact that the strap doesn’t really tighten the shoe. The shoe feels like it’s gonna slip off when you do heel hooks on some harder routes. But other than Amazing shoe I would get another pair as a backup.
