I was tired of renting shoes from the gym and wanted to take my first dive into getting my own pair of climbing shoes. I knew I wanted a good downturned toe and the assurance/confidence that I would be able to land tiny footholds. These shoes have allowed me to perform climbs I previously wouldn’t have attempted, as the dark matter rubber soles give a good stick. Overall these shoes have done me well, and I continue to use these many months after purchasing. The colors are vibrant and fun, and the retro style gives them a nice flare. My only complaint is that the sizing guide on the website was not accurate for me personally. I had to return and order quite a few sizes up (in women’s), and it was a long period of time for me to break them in. But once I broke them in they were wonderful! Just beware of the sizing, it may have just been me, but watch for it! Great shoes!
This was my third climbing shoe purchase, I was looking for something a *little bit* more aggressive than the other pairs I had so picked these. The rubber is great and the shape has really helped me improve my footwork as I trust my toe placements a lot more. Love the colour. I was interested to try the synthetic material, but found I prefer the leather ones - less sweaty. The sizing I find a bit strange, I am a UK 6 but had to buy a US 9! I do not like to use them for sports climbing outside but bouldering is okay on grit.
The padded tongue, breathable mesh upper, and thin lining offer comfort and reliability. Crafted with synthetic materials to create a long lasting fit (minimal stretch) and a three point velcro closure system, the Runner is a supreme climbing shoe blending fashion and function.
A medium stiffness highly downturned toe provides precision in technical or steep overhung climbing. The fish-hook thin midsole enhances edging power for gym and outdoor climbing.
