Sticky as hell, my go to shoe for anything involving a toe hook
I ordered these as part of a bundle because I enjoyed the aesthetics of the shoe. I found the gray fabric and general design very clean and pleasing.
Following instructions, I first ordered a 5.5 USM/7.5 USW (my street shoe is a 6-7.5 USW depending on the shoe). It took me between 5-10 minutes (and A LOT of effort) to get both shoes on, and my feet almost immediately went numb. I exchanged for 6.5 USM / 8 USW, but I still had to figure out my beta for putting the shoe on: fold the shoe partially in half, shove my toes as far down into the toe box as possible, and then arch/point my foot as much as possible and pull up on the heel tabs to slide my heel in (time per shoe is less than a minute now).
I believe my struggles with getting the shoe on might have something to do with the tongue being partially sewed on to half of the opening...? (See pictures.) The shoe does not have a normal opening because of this design. This doesn't stop me from liking the shoe; I just really needed to figure out how to put it on... Getting them off is much easier, though... Which seems more important
With that said, the second pair fit like a glove. Tight, but not unbearable. No hot spots. No fear of my heel popping out. The rubber is SO sticky: you can feel the shoes stick to each other and pull apart a tiny bit if you press them together and then pull them apart. Also, on an overhanging wall in my local gym, I had to make a fairly big move that caused my body started to swing away from the wall but just centimeters of rubber at the tip of the shoe and my big toe kept my body from completely swinging out. It almost felt like cheating... ;)
Purchased these as part of the shoes, pants, and chalk bag combo after contemplating the shoes for about six months. I’m so glad I did. So ill came with mixed reviews in the NE Ohio area, but I had purchased The One shoes when they first came out and was pleasantly surprised by their comfort and durability. The New Zeros are on a whole new level. Having narrow feet, these fit like a glove. I was nervous how tight they initially fit sizing them the same as my previous Shamans and Hiangles (9.5) but they broke in nicely after one session. The rubber is soft and sticky and I find myself trusting my feet more now than ever. The minimalist design is a bonus. If you are hesitant to take the plunge don’t be. These are now my go to shoe and I’m so glad I took a chance on them. Thank you So ill for an incredible shoe.
Went from the streets to the Zero and I loved em both had an issue with the streets stickin to the holds on on V5s and up but the Zero have been absolutely amazing
These things are pretty sweet. I like them in the gym but will mostly save them for outside. Fit suuuper snug sizing guide helps. Little to no dead space in the whole shoe witch I thought was impressive. I was weary of Soills shoes for a while I won’t lie but I’m eating my word now. Really like how it’s made here. USA!! USA!! USA!!! Haha
We have worked diligently with So iLL Team Member, Jason Momoa, to develop the first climbing shoe model for his signature line, On The Roam. Behold, The New Zero Camo.
With a subtle dark camouflage pattern and On the Roam / So iLL logos this shoe is sure to do anything but blend in. This shoe is sensitive, and for a shoe at this level, it is incredibly comfortable.
The synthetic vegan upper fits like a slipper, the fabric is normally used on the inside of durable work boots in the footwear industry. The thread we use for the upper is specially made in the southeast as one of the softest threads in the world, and cannot be felt in the toe box.
